“Very happy with Oliver and his work to auction my coins. I felt I got good results and felt trust with the process. Well done Oliver”

“Update: Spoke to Tom about the issue and due to communication breakdown in the process of getting a refund, protocol was not followed. Issue resolved now and happy with outcome. Sold vinyl records that were clearly water damaged. Damage was not in the description. I tried to return and get a partial refund only to result in my account getting suspended. Thank you, .... you have saved me a lot of time in reducing my travel time to the local tip as a lot of the items that I have purchased in the past don't work or have been damaged. My response to Tom's reply, ...False, it's 50% of the records that were damaged and I asked for 50% refund. I spoke to a staff member the week before about the matter and I was asked to bring in the damaged records. I came from the other side of town (50 minutes drive) and the person at the front counter refused to deal with the matter, asking to come back early next week, which I was not prepared to do the drive again. I requested that I leave the box with the damaged records and I was told in a manner that I didn't appreciate, that I could not do that and the records will be left outside the door. I said stop selling sh.t staff and stormed out. 0% customer service on this particular day.”

“The most pathetic organisation I have ever come across. Purchased 2 items at different auctions and items never sent. Keep chasing up on the phone and given excuse after excuse about it will be done in the next 24 hours. A week later still nothing done and have to chase up again. Told again 24 hours and it will be done. Of course it wasn't fixed and had to call again. Items were then sent. When they arrived there were items missing back on the phones again to fix. I was silly enough to purchase an item in the mean time again from Abbeys. No surprise they did not send it again and had to chase it up. How are they still in business? Every time you buy something they don't deliver it. The only person you can escalate your problem to is a a guy named "Tom" who wont answer his phone.”

“Awesome helpful staff at Abbeys. I bid on their auctions all the time, careful that I can fit my winning purchases in my car. This time I did not pay attention and won a beautiful large painting. I went to pick it up and I could not collect it as it was too large (my own fault as I did not pay attention to the clearly mentioned measurements in the auction). Anyway, the wonderful staff noticed my dilemma and popped it in their truck and delivered it to my home....Customer service above and beyond. ❤️❤️❤️”

“Abbeys is pretty good. Their platform feels suspicious but it works and I haven’t had too many problems with it. The items are legitimate, they are fair with their descriptions, and you can get a great deal. The team are friendly too. However, it’s not perfect. And they should be given autonomy to help customers. I have purchased from abbeys 3 times now, at different auctions. Each time I have an issue of some sort that needs to be worked out. I think maybe they are just busy, and a little disorganised, not at all dodgy or underhanded. The items are great, packaged well, and shipping is very reasonably priced. But as others have said, if you want things done within a reasonable time period (weeks) - you need to follow them up, and more than once. They have forgotten to send invoices, missed items on invoices, had to be reminded to add postage, and then they missed paying their own Australian post bill for 3 weeks so my item sat in storage with no one realising until I called over a period of a few days to work out what was happening. My worry is, if I hadn’t had done the admin, and managed this with more effort than one should have to, would the situation have resolved itself? Finally, and I hate to leave anything but 5 star reviews, but when something didn’t get sent out after that long, and you didn’t know until the customer points it out, it may be a good idea to make a little pomp and circumstance about the issue, rather than leaving the impression this happens so often you don’t even raise an eyebrow anymore. In fact, maybe put the items you were meant to ship weeks earlier onto air freight, to show you do actually recognise you have made a mistake, and have some intent to avoid it in future and make up for it.”
