Amaroo Neighbourhood Op Shop

“Beautiful little Op Shop that is tucked away and sits in a magical garden.”

“Lovely staff and great prices ”

“The Amaroo Neighbourhood Op Shop at 34 Amaroo Street, Chadstone, is so much more than just a second-hand store—it’s a place full of heart and community spirit. As a young guy who stumbled across this shop, I can honestly say it’s changed my life. The first thing you notice is the warmth of the volunteers who run it. They’re always ready with a smile, and their passion for what they do is infectious. The shop itself is a treasure trove—you’ll find everything from clothes and shoes to books, household items, jewelry, and more, all at prices that make you do a double-take. But it’s not just about the bargains. This shop is part of the Amaroo Neighbourhood Centre, which runs programs that bring people together, whether it’s through learning, recreation, or just lending a hand when someone needs it. It feels like a space where everyone is welcome, and everyone belongs. They also do amazing things like distributing free bread twice a week, thanks to support from Bakers Delight in Ashburton. It’s little touches like this that show how much they care about helping the local community. For me, the Amaroo Op Shop isn’t just a place to shop—it’s a place that’s given me purpose and connection. If you’re looking for more than just great finds, if you want to feel part of something real and meaningful, this place is a hidden gem you need to visit. It’s a true reminder of the good in people and the power of community.”
