โIt's amazing what you can find here, we walked in not expecting much, there was everything even the kitchen sink. You will need a trolley that is supplied, as we left satisfied with spending over $100 and will be back tomorrow as there is so much to see. Take the kids and get lost in the well laid out isles. We spent 2hrs looking and I guarantee that you will need a minimum of 4hrs. The staff are well trained, dressed in bright vis safety uniforms and were obviously enjoying their positions with polite directions on where you can find the item your looking for and more. For what you need it is reasonably priced. Yes I would highly recommend to pop in and you will be amazed at the items for sale. Gr8 job by everyone involved ๐๐๐๐๐๐. Cheers Steve and franโ
โPricing is genuinely ridiculous and unnacceptable. Vinnies overpricing its DONATED items is already bad enough at its stores, but its laughable to do it at a tip shop with people's literal trash. There were so many items there that could be bought new for cheaper and cleaner at the mall or online It is actually disgusting how Vinnies is preventing people with low incomes from getting the items they need, and pushing people into contributing to the production of waste instead of buying secondhand items eg: Old remotes being sold for $2-3, plastic baby chairs being sold for $12 and old barbies with no clothes and natty hair for $4โ
โDisgraceful! This is a 0 Star review! Weโve attempted to drop off many items in near perfect condition, only to be sent to the tip with them, TGS would have sold them on within a day. Some of them we took home and gifted/ sold on. What a waste of time. Weโve decided not to bother donating to Goodies anymore, weโre adding everything to our local Buy Nothing Group instead, cannot support this place when they couldnโt care less about the environment and the impact theyโre having on it sending so much good quality stuff to landfill. The prices are also absolutely outrageous, Iโve seen stuff here for the same price that I bought it for brand new. Iโve gone 2 weeks apart and a lot of the same items are still there because the prices are just stupid. TGS moved stuff so quickly and made space for new items constantly because their prices were very reasonable, itโs truly heartbreaking to see so much stuff going to landfill because they want more money for free goods. Get a grip Goodies!! Please bring back The Green Shed ASAP ๐๐โ
โReally gave it a few months before judging. The pricing is insane, ancient half broken items with irreplaceable parts missing listed for the price of a new one. So much less tools, building materials and useful salvage and again, priced much more. I cannot express enough how frustrating it is to look at every item and know that it's priced too much and often missing vital parts or broken. I used to come weekly but I keep leaving disheartened. Despite the price hikes, it seems as Vinnie's group are contributing less or nothing at all to the community compared to the green shed before them.โ
โSuper expensive prices for what was destined to landfill. So unfortunately by giving the contract to a new organisation without having reasonable pricing caps in the contract, the ACT Government has just removed one of the very few places a person can go and get what they need at a reasonable price. All this in the middle of a cost of living crisis, where people really needed it. I was someone who went to the shop every weekend, no longer.โ
