“I was reading the other reviews about the store. I didn't see any female workers so can't comment on that but I can agree with one about David the male staff member he was really nice and welcoming and had a great chat with him while paying and leaving. So if you see him in the store go in I and you will receive a great experience.”
“When into this shop for the first time today. Started off pleasantly and then soon turned. The older worker was making a big deal about me bringing the game boxes up to the counter as if I couldn’t check myself to see if all pieces were there. I did mention that I can count. She then went into the back room area behind the curtain but didn’t realise I was still in the shop next to the curtain and I could hear her talking to her fellow worker about me saying that I was “pretty cheeky” and going on about the game boxes as if the shop had just collapsed. Made a big deal over nothing and made excuses about people stealing game pieces, which made no sense. I found both the ladies to be very unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with. On the other hand , I feel for David the other worker and found him to be very friendly, pleasant and even opened the door for me. Such a shame really as I think the other ladies would put people off from coming into the shop. By the way, this is constructive criticism and hopefully the ladies read the reviews. You can’t change what you don’t acknowledge”
“I visited Victor Harbor Lifeline op shop today. I was trying to paying for my item. I have dyspraxia and asphasia after my stroke. It was apparent that I have a disability due to my walker and my support worker assisting me I was trying explain to the 'cashier' where I got the item from as there were different prices in different racks. I was trying to say that from the notice; I had a tshirt with long sleeves. The long sleeve was more money.. The 'cashier' butted in at least 3 times, calling me 'madam' and other demeaning words..She looked down at me through her glasses. The item wasn't a tshirt. I tried to say it is a tshirt material but had long sleeves so I will pay more. She cut me off several times. She was argumentative also. She acted as I was trying to rob the place. She huffed off to get the manager who will 'deal with me'. She walked backed. She said that I had to pay $1 more. I was trying to say that in the 1st place. My support worker and I found her very rude. Like me as I was trying lower the price. I wasn't. My asphasia let me not able to say when I'm interrupted as well.. She interrupted me several times. She really has to work in the back as her manner was dismissmmive; rude and not pleasant. She's not suited in front of the shop. I paid when I was supposed to. The incident caused me more anxiety than I have normally.. She is in her 60s, wore glasses and has short grey hair. I chose to come to the shop despite the lack of a inclusive ramp. I and others use ramps. This marginalise a lot of customers. I wanted to go as I battle with my mental health after my strokes. I won't be back if that person works there. I know many people volunteer their time due to do hours weekly to receive payments. Maybe the manager could coach volunteers to respect others, don't judge others and don't put people down. I'm a social worker had a rough time. I didn't deserve this treatment. I was going to talk to manager about it..But decided to warn others with a review. This person would cause more damage if I did. Hope your shop goes well and remember that everyone are equal and deserve dignity and respect.. I can see that the same reviews about this salesperson. Does anyone do anything about her? Any staff read these reviews?”
“Extremely rude shop assistant totally ruined my day! The woman behind the counter was frankly awful from the moment I walked in. Not sure what provoked her to be so obnoxious but she told me never to come back while she was on duty!? She also snatched the item I was buying from me when she was putting it through and when I told her I wouldn’t need a receipt she rudely said ‘no you wouldn’t would you’. I called the store after this incident to inquire about the motives behind this nasty display but was told not to take it too seriously and promptly shrugged off. The only thing I could think of to warrant any negative interaction was my bags which I had carrying clothes bought from other opshops throughout the day. I would have been perfectly happy to oblige to a bag check if theft was a concern but no one asked for this. Very confused and put off honestly. The interaction still has me feeling gross. I would avoid this shop at all costs.”
