Lifeline Shop Lindfield

“Small shop. Nicely decorated, but the women working there during the week are the rudest and most arrogant group I've encountered in any charity shop. They behave as if it's a high-end establishment, being extremely rude and watching you closely. There were no signs on the diffuser indicating it wasn't for sale, so when I reached to pick it up to check the price, one woman exclaimed, "Don't touch that!" I thought, relax! Put up a sign next time; how was I supposed to know it wasn't for sale in an op shop? If you pick something up to examine it and then put it back, they rush over to fix it immediately, as if it needs to be perfect or something. This always leaves me feeling uncomfortable. Lifeline really needs to reconsider who represents their organization. They work with individuals facing mental health challenges and promote compassion, yet these women running the store come off as racist, discriminatory, arrogant, lacking in customer service, and just plain rude. Charity shops should be inviting. I shop at these thrift stores to support organizations that help others, as I also work in mental health in Southeast Asia and have dedicated my life to advocating for charities. I've visited this store three times, and each time I've been treated like a peasant, while I observe them being friendly to other women. Clearly, this is a racial issue. It's completely discriminatory on their part. They need to improve and stop judging people. Remember, this is a charity store.”

“I travel across Sydney to visit this op shop. It is fabulous. The manager is so lovely. The store has a wonderful selection of clothing, accessories and bric a brac to choose from. Street parking is easy during a weekday. I especially love the essential oil diffuser that is running -- it makes the shop smell incredible! I wish all Lifeline shops did the same thing.”
