“I love this shop but I genuinely I don’t go there anymore because of how overpriced it is. I wish things would be more affordable like any other tip shop.”
“Very friendly staff, helping moving heavy things, a lot of cool items, worth to go definitely”
“Stock just seems to not sell here... Why? Because it's overpriced! Perhaps lower your prices on secondhand junk. Most of the stock has been sitting in here all year..... Oh look broken items at crazy prices, including a model ship for the bargain price of $30 with a broken mast. But wait!! How about the item in second photo??. So much damage but what a bargain!! Or can they tempt you into this Barbie toy (broken mind you) for $33.00! 😱😡 Congratulations. .... You finally sold that little blue tin bus model at the register..... Only after 1.5 years in the shop. Pathetic Edit: I get you sell damaged items and have no control over the condition of items. Perhaps price them accordingly to reflect the damage? You'll sell and turn over so much more. Just a suggestion.”
“It used to be better... Prices are really high considering this stuff smells like someone died on it, the stuff is dirty and needs work. Nowadays resellers pick through the good stuff and it's pretty junky. Id recommend but not because it's good but because of a lack of options.”
“Glenorchy Tip Shop pricing follows a dispiriting modern trend - it’s old so it must be worth something. You can’t mark up a broken cupboard that’s missing a drawer for $100 because someone *might* spend hours flipping it. Likewise, claiming something is vintage does not immediately mean something has worth. GTS is full of overpriced broken equipment, overpriced battered furniture that’s labelled as ‘retro’ and overpriced ‘collectibles’ that no one wants. Consequently, stock is just sitting there for months. It’s a real shame. Staff seem nice enough and the owl sculpture outside is cool but the whole place could do with a radical rethink.”
