“I walked in and immediately out of this op shop empty handed. It's not an opportunity shop that caters for everyone. The Op shop is well presented but pricey.”
“I was hoping not to leave a review, but I sent an email a month and a half ago to sacred heart and received no response whatsoever, so instead decided to leave my comments here. My elderly father, who has stage four cancer, was in your Preston Op shop a few months back now, accompanied by my sister and her partner. I won't go into the details of the events that transpired here, but a situation occurred by no fault of my father and in relation to his poor health, and he was subsequently treated extremely unfairly and inconsiderately by staff at this op shop. He was understandably very scarred by the whole experience and I was very upset to hear that an elderly, sick man was treated in such an undignified manner. In my email I requested a formal apology on behalf of the organisation as I believe this would alleviate some of the shame and distress that my father experienced as a result of how he was treated, but I received no response. My father has lost so much of himself since his cancer diagnosis, and on a daily basis is reminded of how he is no longer the man he once was. This incident felt like it rubbed salt in that deep wound, and it breaks my heart to think of him being treated this way after he has already suffered so much. I think it is important for your staff to keep in mind that people in their store on any given day might be suffering from poor health, either mental or physical, which could be impacting their behaviour, and to know how to speak to people in a manner that doesn't make them feel shamed and judged for decisions that were really out of their control. It is my understanding that op shops are supposed to be spaces where people who are doing it tough financially can shop, I would hope that the staff would consider that their customer base might include those who could be impacted by chronic physical and mental health conditions. I'm sure it wasn't the intention of the staff member to make my father feel ashamed, and they were probably just trying to do their job, but I ask you remember that a little sensitivity and compassion goes a long way, and I hope that this feedback might invite you to consider some training for the staff of your organisation around navigating interactions with unwell customers so that no one else experiences the same sort of humiliation my father experienced.”

“Well spaced out op shop and there are pretty good finds inside. I found a really vintage Roxette cd for $2. Good find! Clothes are all very well organized according to colors. The newest op shop on the block in Preston, it’s a little walk from the train station and the Preston market.”
