“Hit and miss.. but the staff are 10/10 every time ”
“I used to come here to buy toys for my daughter, but recently I have found they have a very poor selection. However, whenever I try to donate toys they tell me they are completely fully stocked and cannot accept anything. I found this really disappointing as it’s now no longer somewhere I can shop or donate. It’s a real shame and the reception has not been that friendly either. What a pity.”
“The price hikes in the past year are shocking! And as a result the same stock remains on the shelf. I know its proceeds go to charity but surely you need to balance this with helping struggling families to shop for affordable goods. The price hikes are not helping anyone. I know that instagram popularity has made thrifting trendy but please don’t lose sight of the real reason why op-shops are there. Even FB Market place looks more affordable now.”
“What a disappointment! The Dural Salvos used to be a cosy community hub – but not anymore. This store has undergone significant changes over the past couple of months. What was once a clean, friendly, and inviting space has transformed into a “cold” mini-warehouse: 1. Fewer Volunteers: Many of the lovely volunteers who used to work there are gone. The Dural Salvos was more than just a shop; it was a place for social interaction, especially for elderly or lonely customers who cherished the warmth and connection it offered. 2. Slow Stock Rotation: On two visits within an eight-day period (about 10 days ago), no new items were displayed. 3. Empty Racks: Around two clothing racks were completely emptyl. 4. Disorganised Layout: The once-organised sections (e.g., “shirts,” “trousers”) are gone. Now, clothing items are all mixed together, making it harder to browse. 5. Price Increases: The prices have noticeably gone up, making it less affordable for some. 6. Loss of Cosiness: The removal of furniture and decor at the entrance has stripped the store of its once-welcoming, cosy atmosphere. It’s such a shame to see another lovely place lose its charm. (A similar situation happened with the North Parramatta Salvos a few years ago). PS: I kept my old review. Please see below. Back then I gave it 5 stars. My old review (March 2023) We have been going to this Salvos store for years. The prices are great, and as a result, the stock is constantly changing. The staff is friendly. Viktor and Ira have been helpful on many occasions. Also, many thanks to the lovely volunteers.🌷 And lastly, the store is always clean, well-ventilated, with no nasty smells.”
“I’ve been shopping at this store in Dural for over 10 years, and I’ve always appreciated the friendly staff, the great range of products, and the excellent prices. However, when I visited today (Monday, November 18, 2025), I was shocked by the recent price increases. I picked up a men’s polo shirt, which would normally cost me around $5-$7, only to find the price tag now marked at $20. While I understand that the proceeds are going to charity, I can’t justify paying four times the price for a second-hand item, especially when I can buy the same shirt brand new for half that price at a major retailer. As a local father of four, I’ve shopped here to save money, but with these new prices, it’s no longer feasible for me to continue. I’m genuinely disappointed. I understand the store is now under new management, and I wanted to let you know that, unfortunately, I’m no longer a loyal customer. I hope you’ll reconsider these price hikes and return to offering more affordable options, staying true to the store’s mission of supporting charity and helping local families struggling with the cost of living.”
