“Supporting, volunteering at a Salvos stores is always bigger than oneself, it's gibing back to the community, Salves Mirrabooka is always well stocked, well staffed and has such a lovely variety of items to shop and choose from, from clothing, toys, jewellery, glassware to cutlery and crockery....let's help others in need by donating, volunteering and shopping at Salvos Mirrabooka....Thank you to your friendly helpful staff!!!”
“Later at counter was really nice and it was 50% off! Got my costume for dress up party and daughter got a cheap toy also!”
“Absolutely appallingly rude and dismissive treatment towards people coming in-store to donate. My wife went there today to donate some brand-new, never-been-opened toys and children's goods as well as some very-good-condition kids craft supplies and other things. She wanted to give it to someone in the store and explain that a lot of this stuff was brand new and she didn't want to leave it outside, where things tend to get damaged, stolen and rummaged through (it happens at this store a lot; drive past when it's closed). "Outside in the box please" with little more than a glance in her direction. When she tried to explain, she was gruffly rebuffed again. I know many of these shops are staffed by volunteers and that the point of the process is the act of charity itself rather than being thanked profusely or treated with deference. However, politeness and a pleasant demeanour costs absolutely nothing and make people feel good about their experience and more inclined to want to deal with you again. If your volunteers are rude and obstinate, then perhaps they do more harm than good. To be clear, this store might have a process and putting things "in the box" is a part of that process. My issue isn't that this is the store policy, my issue is the arrogant and dismissive way the policy is executed on people doing nothing more than trying to do a good thing. Do better. So rude. Next time Vinnies.”
“Usually a really good selection of stuff. Not the greatest selection of mens wear, but better than most charity stores. The reason to come is really their selection of knick knacks which has always been great.”
“This Salvo store was clean and neat and stocked with plenty of nice affordable goods. With several donation boxes out front. Busy busy place and friendly staff. Hope this is an example of all their stores.”
