“Large variety. Refused donations. A lot of over priced stuff. ”
“This afternoon, at approximately 4:55 PM, I went to the store to donate several bags of clothing, just a few minutes before closing time. To my surprise, the staff member on duty was extremely rude, informing me in an abrupt manner that the store was already closed. I politely pointed out that it was not yet 5:00 PM and therefore the store should still be open. Shortly thereafter, another gentleman arrived with bags of donations as well, and a heated exchange ensued between him and the staff member. It was evident that he, like myself, simply wished to contribute donations, yet the employee was clearly unwilling to assist and seemed more interested in ending her shift than fulfilling her duties”
“I got yelled at today by a staff member whilst breastfeeding, for my toddler standing beside a toy we intended on & subsequently brought. She convinced herself he was “poking holes in the cling wrap”, and that was good enough reason to yell at him and myself all the while Im trying to soothe my baby. To which we pulled of & threw the cling wrap in the bin as soon as we brought it anyway. Simply asking if we were interested might have been a bit nicer especially once she saw I was breastfeeding, instead of seeing it as her moment to attack. Actually showing people some kindness… crazy idea right Salvos”
“Decent selection but pretty much everything super overpriced - like $10 for a kmart scarf that’s $12 brand new. Most of it will be going to landfill if it isn’t sold so I don’t understand the pricing”
“Great store with a clean layout and a huge selection! I found amazing deals: brand new swimwear for $3, kids’ dress for $2, Kmart shoes for $5, Nike running shoes for $25, and a beautiful linen dress for $15. Prices range from $1 to $30, and I even got 20% off for donating. Another customer got $5 off just by asking for help. Only downsides: the jewelry selection was limited, and the noise from kids running and screaming for hours was a bit much. I did ask staff to remind customers to control their kids, but she couldn’t. Overall, it’s a great op-shop with great bargains. Highly recommend!”
