“I could smell a waft of popcorn which was odd but as I had come into the store the kind gentleman offered me free popcorn from the popcorn machine really made my day in the crux of winter. What an act of kindness we need more of! He also mentioned he had passed some items to homeless or those struggling what a super human!”

“An older disabled woman wearing a bike helmet was in the shop and she was approached by staff and told off for no reason I could see, she replied by saying "you obviously don't want me here so I'll leave". As she walked out she was followed by an aggressive man who was shouting at her to piss off and worse. She stood her ground as she unlocked her bike and told him she was leaving due to the treatment she's received as a cyclist today and the last time she was there and he shouted about what he said previously while she burst into tears and left. I followed her up to see if she was okay and turns out the last time she was there that man and other staff had talked about how much they hated cyclists, as she was the only one in the shop and standing in front of them it was obvious they were referencing her. She said, " I usually travel by wheel chair, but on a good day (she has a degenerative chronic illness) I can bike to the discount supermarket to get food. On those days I have to take breaks, so go to opshops to buy crafting materials" (? Im not sure what that is). She said the last time she tried to shop she just ignored them while they were saying horrible things about her, but today she just decided to leave. This person did absolutely nothing to deserve being sworn and abused and treated so horribly. I wished I'd stepped in and defended her in the moment, but Im so glad I checked up on her given how much physical pain she was in and upset she was with the way she was treated. She just said it happens, she thought it was because she has to wear her bike helmet in the shop, but only because any type of walking is a hazard and the helmet will stop a head injury if she falls, given she's unstable walking.”

“Great little shop - all toys are $2. Got a Hot Wheels trailer and a beautiful native bird embroidered linen doily. Is definitely open on Saturdays.”

“love this place, so cheap and the owner is a legend! love coming here with my friend every couple of months and going crazy. yes the store is small and packed but that’s what makes it so fun!! it’s like a treasure hunt, if you can’t handle the thrill of a good thrift rummage then you’re missing out!”

“I can't speak on the below behaviour, I've only been here once, today... But my first impression as a customer was fine, this isn't a franchise it gives off more of a tiny country ma and pa shop vibe. The only chaotic areas are the bins of toys and shoes, which you will need to go for a dig to get to the bottom, but this is common. You can't compare it to savers or vinnies. I was spoken to politely and friendly by the nice bloke behind the counter, and what I bought was more affordable than other places. I enjoyed my visit, and will probably re visit.”
