“I found a couple of reasonably priced smaller items today amongst the overpriced majority of stock. One item was a padded bra. When I was paying for it the woman assisting turned one of the cups inside out to fit them together. I said politely "You shouldn't do that. It ruins the foam" and showed her how to twist the middle to get the same compact effect. She pursed her lips and rolled her eyes at me. I said "Don't roll your eyes at me. I'm offering helpful information." She denied doing anything like I didn't just see her do it. How about retraining the rudeness out if some of your volunteers, Vinnie's? Poor performance from said volunteer, very poor.”
“I visited Vinnie's Annerley Qld I am utterly appalled by my recent experience at Vinnie's Charity Store. The prices they have set for their items are astronomical, and it's clear that they are more interested in filling the pockets of their managers and CEOs than in providing affordable options to those in need. In a time when the cost of living is skyrocketing, one would expect a charity store to be at the forefront of caring for the community. However, Vinnie's seems to have lost sight of its purpose and has become nothing more than a profit-driven enterprise. I cannot express how disgusted I am by the inflated prices I encountered during my visit. Some items were marked as high as $170! How can Vinnie's justify charging such exorbitant amounts for second-hand goods? It's beyond comprehension and reeks of greed. To add insult to injury, they had a so-called "fill a bag" promotion for clothes, but the items available were absolutely disgusting. It's as if they expected people to pay top dollar for rags and tattered garments. This is not only disrespectful to potential customers but also a clear indication that Vinnie's lacks the necessary standards of quality control. As a single dad on a high to mid income, I visited Vinnie's for a costume, expecting to find affordable options. However, I was shocked to discover that I could purchase brand new costumes for a fraction of the price at a cheap store. This experience has shattered any faith I had in Vinnie's as a reliable source for affordable items. Furthermore, Vinnie's claims to promote eco-friendliness, but my visit left me questioning their commitment to this cause. By pricing items so unreasonably, they discourage people from reusing and recycling, ultimately contributing to more waste and environmental harm. After today, I have made up my mind that I will no longer support Vinnie's. In fact, I plan on using my frustration as fuel to create a TikTok video highlighting the stark contrast between Vinnie's prices and the cost of buying brand new items elsewhere. I believe it's important to expose their unfair practices and prevent others from falling into the same trap. Additionally, I will reach out to the HR department at my workplace to propose supporting alternative charities that genuinely prioritize helping those in need and operate with transparency and fairness. Vinnie's has left such a foul taste in my mouth that I cannot in good conscience endorse their organization any longer. In conclusion, Vinnie's Charity Store has failed in its mission to provide affordable options and support the community. Their astronomical prices, coupled with the disappointing quality of items, reflect a blatant disregard for the very people they claim to serve. It's time to take a stand against such exploitative practices and seek out charities that truly make a positive impact.”
“Nice stuff but pretty ridiculous pricing, $125 for a dress? You’re a charity shop, you get these clothes for FREE. Also, Dangerfield is not worth $40 secondhand get a grip.”
“I can't help but feel the location of this shop is the contributing factor for the pricing alone. The pricing on most items was overpriced. They did have a huge range of stock though with women's wear being the most stocked. Parking was shared with neighbouring business, coco's, but I managed to find a park easily the day I visited.”
“I previously would visit this Vinnies store at Annerley every 6 weeks or so. I would pick up the odd useful kitchen item or reasonably priced piece of clothing. This isn't the case anymore! It has been a while since I've visited because the last 2 times the shop's pricing had got quite expensive. If you know your shopping you will notice many things you could buy in a shop, new, for less. I heard customers in the shop making this remark about objects that were overpriced. I was interested to see whether my visit would be any different but unfortunately no I don't think I will waste my time going back here again. Certainly they have a fairly large range because it's a large store. They particularly had lots of sets of DVDs, not so much in the way of kitchenware. The was plenty of clothes but pricey for what they were. I noticed the books were very, very expensive. For example, one small book $15. The cheapest book in the store was $5. The Vintage pieces also very expensive in terms of 100 or more dollars. Not my type of Charity store.”
