“Prices are getting a bit high, still some nice finds, but they aren't cheap”
“At Vincent de Paul is a charity. My partner and I op shop because we often cannot afford new things - that’s the beauty of them. This is not a charity store - the prices are an absolute disgrace to the ethos of vinnies. Please put someone else in charge of pricing because the lady who currently does it would do well to open her own vintage boutique and leave vinnies prices accessible to those in need.”
“Heavily overpriced, often even above ebay prices! Every visit to Vinnies on Boland St is usually for a laugh, a laugh at the ridiculous prices they continue to put on items. The toys are always broken, I'm not sure where the decent toys are being sold but everything on the shelves are better off in landfill or being donated. CDs are $8+, even the heavily scratched ones whereas most other stores including other Vinnies charge $1-3. Avoid this place, much better options available in this big city between Salvos, Mission and smaller individual ones.”
“The prices are too expensive. This shop gets donations for free. But when I went in to the store today, they had a CD that was $90. All the prices of everything is rather expensive and it’s getting worse each time I take a look. Their prices are insane and takes away from the point of an “opportunity shop”.”
“This shop is unfortunately pricing it's customers out. The "vintage and retro" items are much dearer here than at actual vintage shops. I understand that pickers purchase from op shops to resell at a higher price. Why not allow them to support their small business and your charity at the same time? Ultimately the current pricing model is costing people the dignity of being able to a. purchase in the first place and b. resell to make a little extra money. As for the clothing, it's also far too dear. A used Adidas women's cropped jacket for $70? They were around that brand new 5 years ago. Really sad to hear elderly pensioners discussing having to put the things they liked back on the rack as they couldn't afford it. Your prices are humiliating the very people your charity supports. Management needs a wake up call.”
