Good Sammy

“I had an upsetting experience at this Good Sammy store that has left me feeling embarrassed, judged, and disappointed. Unfortunately reading through some recent reviews this does not seem like an isolated experience. I am a regular shopper at this store which makes this incident all the more disheartening. While paying for a few items, I brought a jacket to the counter. The jacket had no price tag and was hanging in the regular jacket section. The staff member serving me priced it at $15 (as per the price advertised on the rack I found it on). Just as I was about to tap my card to pay, another staff member suddenly intervened. She said the jacket should have been a “Gold Seal” item and was in fact worth $80. She also implied (in front of other customers) that someone had removed the Gold Seal price tag in an attempt to obtain it at a cheaper price. It felt very much like she was accusing me of doing that, which was incredibly humiliating and disrespectful. She took the jacket away to reprice it. I had to say I couldn’t afford it and leave it behind in front of other customers, which was quite embarrassing. I went back to the store the next day thinking I might explain how upsetting it was, or see if I could still buy the jacket, but I was too anxious to speak up. The whole situation felt unfair and completely at odds with what I thought Good Sammy stood for — helping people who can’t always afford brand new clothing and encouraging second-hand shopping to support the environment. I understand pricing errors happen, but accusing customers and repricing items at the counter is not how a charity should treat people. This experience felt counterintuitive to the values of Good Sammy.”

“Firstly a big thankyou to Leanne who is consistently helpful and so very warm and friendly at all times.Most times customers sense if the environment positive and inviting sadly at the Borrogoon store l feel uneasiness and a store where l don't feel relaxed.I don't know why this is.The stock in store is excellellent.Please don't reply to my reveiws,reading your responses from other reveiws suggests that you write only in a way that completely discounts your customers feedback”

“Never been, so came to have a little look. My daughter had a piece of muslie bar in her hand when we were walking in, and the lady at the door said 'you cant bring that into my shop'. Definitely never coming back :)”

“Ok op shop, one little lady with dark short hair who they need to just not have on the floor at all everytime I’ve been in she’s budging past and glaring just in general horrible vibe, they also have pretty much half the shop on gold seal for ridiculous prices”

“The staff here really do an AMAZING job at keeping the store tidy and organised. It’s so easy to find what you’re looking for! The extra effort they put in really makes a noticeable difference :) definitely my favourite op shop to visit and has been for years. They’re also very friendly and helpful! A really stand out team !”
