“I would not recommend this Vinnie's, this charity op shop does not reflect a thrift store where you can find affordable clothing rather a boutique in an affluent area that are profit-driven. While I understand that the organisation relies on the revenue from their shops to support charitable groups, I couldn't help but feel that some of their pricing practices are unreasonable. First and foremost, it's crucial to acknowledge that Vinnies plays a vital role in funding programs and services in Western Australia, benefiting various charitable causes. However, my concern lies in the pricing of items, particularly clothing, at this particular Vinnies location. I noticed that some pieces, which I suspect originated from budget stores like Kmart and Boohoo, were priced significantly higher than what you would expect to pay in other thrift stores and even first hand retail stores themselves. For example, a basic $10 Kmart shirt was marked up to a staggering $20. This pricing seemed excessive, given the nature of thrift shops and the fact that most patrons are looking for affordable options. Earlier replies that claim some of their clothing prices are as low as $2 simply did not reflect my experience at all. While I appreciate the store's efforts to stock high-quality and brand-name items, I believe they need to strike a better balance between offering quality merchandise and ensuring affordability for their customers. Thrift stores should be a place where people from all walks of life can find reasonably priced items that suit their needs and budgets. I hope Vinnies can reconsider their pricing strategy, especially for items that clearly originate from lower-priced retailers. This would help ensure that their thrift store remains accessible to a wider range of customers while still supporting their charitable efforts.”
“Went here for the 1st this weekend. Overall a good experience - yes the prices are higher than other op shops and for some items with visible wear and tear it seemed excessive but you can find some barely used pieces from good brands for a good price (which is what I was there for). My only pet peeve was that the clothing was organised by colour (a nice look overall) but I prefer shops where they organise by size so I don’t have to go through everything to find what I like in the right size. Which is what I had to do here and it wasted a bunch of my limited time I was there. And can be disappointing when you find something you like but it’s not the right size.”
“Unfortunately another op shop that has items crazily hiked in prices. Which is really sad. While I understand the organisation uses the revenue from op shops to help many charitable groups. People walking into that door also come as they need “assistance” Just because it’s located in a higher end suburb doesn’t mean it’s okay to price items at a crazy price. No one comes in to buy “bras” to resell. Walked in and saw bras prices at the same prices you would see at Myer 🙈😭”
“I love this Vinnies… so much I go nearly every week! Yes it may be a little more expensive than others but the quality and the brands of the pieces are so worth it! If you like good quality clothing/ brands this Opp shop is for you. Even better the money goes to a good cause! I can’t rate highly enough. Thank you Vinnies Applecross. Ps: the staff are also amazing and extremely helpful”
“I have found some nice clothes but certainly no bargains. Paid kmart prices for better quality & fit items. Definitely not for everyone with their high prices for an op shop but you won't find kmart here.”
