“As a lifelong frequenter of thrift stores, and resident of Hobsons Bay I feel compelled to review this store. I’ll give 1 star for layout but the prices are OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH nearly equal to the boutiques selling new clothes along Douglas Parade. Just because a thrift store is located in a ‘wealthy suburb’ does not mean they can put high prices on items. And it’s not like they are selling unique vintage or designer pieces. Small handbags $30 coats for $95. There are other thrift stores in the same area that have reasonable prices. Red Cross take note the locals are not happy.”
“Do not understand not for profits like this who open Op Shops in expensive to rent locations and put out ludicrously overpriced stock. Yes you are there to raise money for the vital support you provide but the consumer who most frequents Op Shops doesn’t want to spend the amounts you are charging for ultimately very basic second hand condition ‘donated’ brands. Please can Not for profits stop going into locations you can’t afford the overheads on. This helps no community and devalues the purpose of op shops being a shop for everyone in communities. Disappointing also to note the person staffed there on my day of visit (a quiet Wednesday) made no attempt either to interact with myself or any of the 2 other people who entered the shop while I was in there. Too busy pricing more overpriced stuff to be bothered to extend a basic hello to any of us! If your Op Shopping in the area you will find way better stock and old school op shop pricing at the Williamstown Hospital Op Shops on Ferguson St and the volunteers there are so naturally chatty and happy to be there raising funds and awareness for the local hospital.”
