“I want to share how refreshing it’s been to shop at the Pooraka op shop. As a mum of two young toddlers, it’s not always easy finding places where we feel truly welcome—but this store has been an exception. Some of the staff here I remember from the old Parafield Salvos, and they’ve always been kind, approachable, and understanding. It’s such a relief to walk into a store and not be met with judgement or glares just because I have young children who can be a little noisy or curious. The team here creates a genuinely welcoming and relaxed environment, which makes a big difference for families like mine. The pricing is also very reasonable—much better than many of the other Salvos and op shops in the area. It’s clear that this store values accessibility and community support, which I really appreciate. Thank you to the team at Pooraka for making secondhand shopping a positive experience. We’ll definitely continue coming back!”

“Usually have a good experience here, however went there on a Tuesday and encountered a particularly rude, perhaps untrained person,who seemed to be in charge????. Asked politely about some pillows that were unprised and was abruptly told that they were part of the lounge set that they were displayed on and not for sale.. Go figure, would have paid $5 each for the 3 of them but dickhead new boss was more interested in making the shop look nice than making a sale to raise funds . Might opshop elsewhere for a while”

“This place is cavernous. Huge selection of womens clothing, shoes, wedding dresses with an even further discounted section out the back. There is also a good selection of sturdy second hand furniture. Well worth a visit.”
