“All I asked for was the empty trolley so I could put all my donations in and was told no and she added we will have to go through all the donations before accepting them. Got in the car and left. What she didn’t know that a lot of the clothes still had tags and others were washed ironed and folded. Nothing was rubbish. So I went to St Vincent De Paul at ST Martins Blacktown, who brought the trolley out and helped me unload and accepted my donations without an inspection.”
“Good variety of products both indoor and outdoor. There are some good quality toys and kids stuffs at great prices. Clothes are mainly of fast fashion. Look hard to find good quality ones. Short bus ride from Blacktown station, this store is quite popular with both shoppers and donators. Homeware section is pretty large. There are always new stock. They usually have good number of vinyl records at $2-3 each. Drop off your preloved stuffs at the end of the driveway. It is quite easy if you can find a parking spot which are likely limited. Prices are generous but furnitures are pretty expensive. Kids' books are 50c - $3. One of a few Salvos stores that offers generous prices. Service is good in general unless inexperienced staff work there. There is another person at cashier to help bag your purchase and put away shopping baskets.”
“I went to Donate 5 boxes 📦 of various items there, as I finished unloading I could hear one staff member yelling at a customer and saying the price on this item has been changed although she wasn’t saying the actual words it looked and sounded like she was accusing this person of stealing while there was a huge line there at the checkout & the poor customer looked like she was almost about to cry 😢 . The staff members behaviour & tone as she spoke to the customer was disturbing and disgusting! People donate items to OPshops in good faith. The very purpose of a charity shop is to provide compassion and kindness to people in need, So what’s the point if they lack compassion & kindness towards their very customers. I don’t think this Salvation Army deserves your donation. I will not be donating here again.”
“Been here a few times, they take lots of donations and they always have something that you need. If you are lucky you can always grab a really good find. So much value for money!”
“This one used to be one of my favourites pre covid :) I went back last week (March 2021) and was quite sad and shocked at some pricing , especially clothes, shoes and frames. I mean $12 for a random tshirt in an OP shop is not quite nice (honestly retail is cheaper) and a 6x4 picture frame for $8!! Board Games and some brick and brack and stationery were fairly priced. I understand they are raising funds for charity, but 90%of the people that goes there is because they cant either afford to go retail or have a very limited budget. Staff were not the friendliest either :(”
