Salvos Stores Yarrabilba

“This is one of my favourite Salvos; I religiously go there almost every week. But every time I go, I always get looks from the older workers as if I’m stealing. One time I went in, and one of the older women followed me around the boutique section. I know she was following me because when I went to the other side of the store where the children’s stuff was, she followed me. I went back to the boutique to see if she’d follow me there, and boom — there she was. I went in there today and grabbed some things that I wanted to try. I asked before I used the change rooms, and a middle-aged woman told me I could try them on. I said thank you, and she walked away. I glanced back for a brief moment, and there she was, watching me and looking at all the things I carried in there. I find it funny that these Caucasian women racially profile women when almost all the crime happening in Yarrabilba is being committed by Caucasian people. I am Polynesian — an Islander. I am a proud brown Australian, born and raised. I am also Christian. I don’t appreciate being treated this way, especially by Salvos, which is run by a Christian movement. It’s rude, and it makes me feel like I don’t belong among my own. I’m a loyal customer, and I still will be here at this Salvos. Hopefully they read this review and can be more discreet about their racial profiling. Thank you.”

“Absolutely lovely staff, they are always willing to help. The items in store are clean and well displayed. I always find something here. Highly recommend.”

“I consider myself somewhat of an op shop aficionado, having visited most of the op shops across Brisbane, Logan and the Scenic Rim, and this is genuinely my favourite. It is so spacious and well organised, with amazing quality clothes, shoes, books and homewears. I now visit on a fortnightly basis and always manage to find something amazing for the whole family. The staff are excellent - so kind and helpful, and I love love love the loyalty program on their system that doesn't require me to remember a card!”

“Very clean and well organized op shop with reasonable prices. Everything is well displayed and the store is very clean and easy to navigate. Staff were attentive and helpful. It's a huge store with a big selection and lots of sizes. Very well organized.”
