“We rang logan and Unfortunately apparently defenders of hope don't have a truck to pick up furniture. We are moving everything out from a lovely home. We have a truck load! We were donating a very stylish expensive bed, lounge, lovely single beds with mattress, home goods (some items brand new) and very good usable camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, cook ware, hiking shoes, hicking warm jackers etc) expensive roller skates used a few times only. Very sad as you would have families that would not be able to afford much and we were giving all this away. Very disappointing. We wanted it to go directly to the people that are apparently on your waiting list for goods. Unfortunately on marketplace second hand dealers scope social for free good. They'll make a lot of money out of modern items we have for free. We don't need the money so we don't want to sell. I guess we'll just take our chances on market place. Edited: We were thinking of having the items delivered, but I will add the lady who took my call was not interested at all when i calked, she straight away cut me off, giving me no time to for to say i could possiblyhave it delivered. I have been a volunteer in the past for many years for 'you have a friend ' in nsw, as we like giving to charities. I was always obliging when people wanted to donate very good items. This lady on the phone constantly cut me off when I tried to tell her that I possibly would have them delivered to them another way. After the very short call I've decided to give to another charity that were very kind and greatful. They can't believe the items that are going to be donated, there is enough to set a family up in a small unit. We have even offered to donate a clothes dryer for someone with a new bub. My 1st experience with defenders of hope at logan has been very disappointing. I've donated to Beaudesert before, they were very greatful. They were lovely ladies at beauy. As a health professional I know how important it is to donate good items to struggling marginalised families, couples and single people. It really can make a difference. I also know as a health professional that when we interact with others, we should always be kind and courteous as we don't know what someone may be going through.......this lady needs to consider this when speaking to others on the phone.”

“My absolute favourite op-shop, it's a gem. Lovely volunteers, a fantastic and well-organised range of stock, and the best prices. (Not only are their normal prices low, but they regularly have amazing $1 clothing or fill a bag sales)”

“I visited Logan Village Defenders For Hope Op Shop on Wednesday the 12th of a October 2022 for the first time upon word of mouth. I was sincerely impressed with the space and layout of the store and the availability and prices of items. The shoes were in good used condition and some of them were brand new or barely worn for $3.00 each no matter what, AMAZING. I picked up 6 pairs of shoes for $18.00 The women’s shirts were $3.00 each, I found some really nice secondhand shirts. The women’s handbags were in good condition for secondhand and the prices were extremely desirable and reasonable. I found a old handbag that was dirty, well used, rusted, tiered, no brand for $4.00 upon getting home and opening the bag I found two 1970 cinema tickets from Melbourne inside! I realised that the handbag was a 1960’s handbag and it was real leather. The leather has faded and was extremely old and tired, I polished the leather and restored it. I absolutely love this handbag! I adore it! It’s my new favourite bag. It now lives on! I have pictured the handbag after it was restored. The staff are so friendly and they recognise me. Great customer service. Highly recommend!”
