“This is a fantastic 2nd hand clothing store with reasonably priced clothing and goods over 2 floors. The big difference to other stores is they also have upcycled clothing, so you can buy one off items that are different and individual whilst helping reduce landfill. The staff were friendly and helpful and you can easily spend an hour going through all the racks.”
“Popped in for literally minutes, the first things I looked at were priced from $100 - $200 ++ seriously? With the amount of poverty around, people struggling, and your so called charity organisation you represent, really people, where’s the integrity in that? Are you reselling your clothes at a premium? Are you still getting donated items for free and overcharging!? What’s wrong? Just because of where you are located, really? Poverty is all around you…”
“An op shop that doesn't feel like you're in an op shop ! So much care must go into curating the space and yet prices are so reasonable.”
“More of a vintage bazaar than an op shop. This establishment is a standout in Fremantle. Loads of unique items displayed over two levels. The volunteers working there are friendly and show immense joy in their work. Really interesting to look at.”
“DO NOT donate here if you’re genuinely looking to support vulnerable communities. Unfortunately, the staff take any valuable donations for themselves, taking away any profits that could be made to support our community. Around October of last year I inquired about an item on display, to be told that it was not for sale. Later, I find that the item was now for sale - however it was ‘unavailable’ as the store had to contact any previous expressions of interest before selling it first - which is fine. Upon their refusal to sell the item to me (Priced $150.00, I offered an additional $250, totalling in $400 to go towards their designated charities). This was denied, which I was fine with up until I learned that a staff member admitted she had already taken home and tried on this ‘donation’ with the intent to pocket it for herself. No mention of payment or sale. Another staff member refused to sell the item once again, and I overheard giggling and the mention of taking it to use for her renaissance fair (a conversation she was having with her friend whilst ignoring us). This behaviour I can understand from consignment stores, but not from op shops, especially St. Pat’s, an organisation intent on helping the community and providing charity to those who need it most! To deny a profit of $400+ that would go towards housing, food and shelter for vulnerable people is appalling! Definitely not the right type of people to be working there, volunteers or not. Behaviour like this is unacceptable. I’ve made a complaint to St. Pat’s already, however, any potential donors should be aware before donating to this store.”
