“The Lorne Op Shop98 Mountjoy Parade, Lorne VIC 3232 I've been here early in February 2022, at first I was curious about what was inside the shop. And as soon as I enter the shop. I fall in love with the items they have and it's so affordable, I met lovely saleswomen here. They were very helpful and friendly, especially Karen (who had a hand injury) and Sue. Not to mention I came here three times because of Sue and Karen's friendly attitude. And I am definitely looking forward to visiting Lorne Op Shop again. I highly recommend The Lorne Op shop to my friends and because of your warm welcome to a tourist like me, I will give you five stars. So far everything went well. I would like to thank your friendly staff.”
“WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER. this has now happened two times to me… the old nasty lady who works there sometimes has ACCOSTED me about not wearin my mask. I have a MEDICAL DISABILITY and my doctor wrote a medical certificate explaining that I am legally excempt from mask wearing. This lady ripped through me even though I told her I literally have both a respiratory condition and severe mental illness. This is appalling. She ripped through me saying things like “well you might have that condition but what about our staff?” I told her, if anything with all due respect I am more at risk because I can’t wear a mask and I truly wish I could. Then she left and started talking about me with another staff the man at the door extra loud and I went up to her, shaking and crying and asked for her compassion and her response: “just leave. You are now welcome here”. The second time I went in I couldn’t see her so I thought I was safe. I was browsing and out of no where she comes up and says “when you are done browsing you need to come with me so we can have a talk” I told her “I don’t know you. I don’t feel safe having a talk with you and to please leave me alone now”. She then proceeded to treat me the same way as last time. I so deeply regret going in to the store. I was so shaken up by this and the way she spoke to me and treated me it set off my mental illness and I feel suicidal again. I acknowledge that’s not her fault it’s my own mental illness but it must be said that this lady CONTRIBUTED to an obvious decline in my well-being. IF YOU HAVE A DISABILITY DO NOT ENTER THIS STORE. they do not abide by the law. I am making an official complaint to human services.”
“Worst shop lve been into, observing 2 people being demanded to leave for not wearing a face mask,1st person made it known she had a medical exception and was excempt but was still forced to leave.second was 2 people one was wearing a face mask but the other did not as it was very clear the person couldn't as he in my opinion had a medical condition and also seemed to have a intellectual disability. I replied to staff these people actually have a legal right to remain in your store the store people couldn't care less saying to me" we choose who shops in our stores "and they can sue us if they choose we don't care as we are only volunteers, very very confrontational people and should be ashamed of themselves. l suggested that they all should brush up on their laws in my opinion they are picking on people they are trying to help, go figure”
“I was asked to leave because I was not wearing a mask. Even though i said I have an exception. They asked everyone to leave the store because of 1 persons not complying. I then read out the Victorian laws on mask wearing and I was shown the door. I said you can be sued for what yrdoing. The lady said go ahead. Im a volunteer and this is a charity shop.”
“Just visiting for the day. Wednesday 3:40 pm Found this op shop. A young family were buying lots of children’s clothes. One top had a hole at the back … $5 The mother buying this for her child asked the lady serving for a discount. The lady said no. Then the op shop worker said she would put the clothing item in the bin. I was appalled at the way she treated this family. I walked out without buying the 2 items I wanted. I would never go back. Shameful way to treat a young family. Pamela Retired Daylesford”
