“I volunteered here once. All I can say is shame on you Vinnies. Smashing slightly chipped items so homeless people can't retrieve them from the outside dumpster and use them. Items put up to antique store prices. Items googled so they can price them close to online vintage items. Jewellery checked by jewellers to see if they have the 925 silver stamp on them, or to see if they are diamonds etc. Quotas and sales targets. But of all the things I saw; the poor girl who asked for a blanket stays with me to this day. I still can see her sad eyes. I was told I couldn't give her a blanket. The management told her to travel to another suburb to get a voucher for the blanket and come back. A girl who I believe lived on the street was asked to travel to another suburb. Every week the moral purgatory this Vinnies put me in tortured my conscience. Vinnies is not for the poor. The poor can't afford what they sell at antique store prices. God is nowhere in any of these stores. I feel sorry for St Vincent who these stores used to be named after. A true saint who gave everything for others. Vinnies is a business; no longer a charity in my opinion.”
“actually i can buy new stuff and i have money but sometimes i choose to buy stuff at salvos and vinnies in order to help. But I sometimes feel uncomfortable when shopping at Vinnies. There were staff who seemed to suspect me because I was carrying a shopping bag. I took my shopping bag to the changing room because my bag contained my valuables and there were items I had bought from other stores. I am not comfortable when I see the goods and then followed by the staff. I am a believer and I know how to live as a Christian. You have to trust the buyer. different from in Salvos, every buyer is free to choose goods and does not follow the staff. and they also buy a lot of things in Salvos”
“I love Vinnie's, when you walk in there is a nice old smell to it that's not to strong, the clothes there are beautiful and cheap (I got a really nice jacket for only $15 and a button up shirt for $6) but still good quality, it has a nice vintage selection of clothes. At the front desk there is really pretty rings, watches, and knick knacks and the cashier is a nice old woman, she even complemented what I was wearing which made me really happy, I love Vinnie's and I hope to go there again soon.”
“This is a nice little Vinnies with that old fashioned smell the minute you walk in the door. Staff were very helpful the day that I visited, taking time to help someone with not only a query from the store but also where they might be able to purchase the item elsewhere. The prices here are reasonable and the store is clean and well laid out. Parking is tough in downtown Riverwood, but it's worth stopping by for a look in case you are lucky and are able to bag yourself up a bargain.”
“Best vinnies so far. Friendly staff. open all week. One of two places where you can buy kids clothes in riverwood. The other being the Salvo's. There are no kids clothing shops so if you need kids clothes go here.”
