“I loved Vinnies before however their prices are getting ridiculous, many things overpriced, especially the new items and designs brand.”
“Just started volunteering at this amazing Vinnies store. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Felt a real sense of family in this new environment. I loved interacting with the clients and helping them. An uplifting day with many more to come. It was fantastic to see the dedication and professionalism of the full time staff that work here. Still learning about the colour rainbow 🌈 of clothes.”
“The manager or supervisor Meryl is so rude. You’d expect a vinnies leader to be a kind person… nope treated my dad who had an emergency access voucher like he was stealing and was talking down to him very loudly. Just a yucky person.”
“Pretty egregious pricing of most of their stuff. I've literally seen IKEA furniture in questionable condition being sold for $20 more than it is new from IKEA. They have also had racist minstrel show records for sale every time Ive visited as many op shops around Perth do for some reason. Have tried to point this out to the workers before and they've just ignorantly defended it as a "historic" thing. Not going to continue supporting these backwards stores.”
“It’s a sad day when you can’t afford to shop at Vinnies any more. I saw two lovely little blue and white plates that were not old, nor were they Chinese, nor were they an antique. Price? $25. I’m sure the original price was probably only $5 from Kmart. The managers response? “We are not even the most expensive op shop.” When was it an op shops objective to out price each other instead of helping the poor? Response to manager: I think that op shops have forgotten that it’s the people who regularly shop at op shops, these are the ones who support your ability to give assistance to those in real need. I don’t buy new items from department stores any more because it only supports big business. I buy from op shops to support the genuinely needy and to reuse/upcycle/repurpose items that still can be used. But now I may as well buy new, as your prices are not that much different to retail, or retail on sale.”
