Australian Red Cross Op Shop - Brighton

“I have experienced horribly rude behaviour on behalf of the staff multiple times. It makes it worse that it is always incredibly overstaffed - you can barely make it through an aisle. But despite the overstaffing, they will ignore you and not welcome new customers into the store. They also act like it's an inconvenience to serve you if you're not a local as well. One time an elderly lady came in asking if she could have some assistance and use their phone to call a taxi, and she was directed to the pay phone outside. Have some common decency?? I thought this was run by a charity! Also as other reviewers say, exceptionally overpriced for an op shop. Not just the designer stuff - I saw a top with a Shein tag selling for $10. I think the Red Cross organisation needs to review this store and do an overhaul as it is not a good look for a charity.”

“Train your staff. I'm pretty sure, if something is half price, you are not supposed to charge us full price. It's happened to me like 5 times now. One more time and I'll be demanding receipts just to prove mine point to whoever needs to be informed. I struggle enough without be scammed by a thrift shop”

“OBSCENELY overpriced. A shameful markup on donated items! Have been twice and both times the staff were complaining and unaccommodating of shoppers in the limited spacing of the store.”

“Was interested to see what this Op Shop had to offer and I'm not going to lie I was shocked at some of the prices. $180 bags. $250 coats. $150 tops. What! And the expensive items weren't in that great shape either. So not sure what going on here, do Brighton op-shoppers really pay these prices? Obviously they must or else shop wouldn't be here. So sure check it out but have deep pockets! Note friendly staff and male volunteer even joked with me that there was a Donald Trump book to buy (this was on day of his indicment).”
