“Yes this Op Shop is overpriced however it is a good place to get second hand books and I purchased several this morning. Nice decorative items that unfortunately not for sale, owned by store. What? And yes while the bookcases are good and tidy, other areas are a mess. 11.8 called in to have browse and of course walked out with books.”
“Sitting opposite Vinnies, I often go to both. This store has a large clothing selection aswell as an extensive library of books. The Staff are always nice and will always give you the benefit of the doubt on double tagged items. Their electronics are often wayyyy out of wack in terms of prices. There is a great selection of art and sometimes can find a great piece for a price. End of the day Salvos Hampton is a good store but lives in Vinnies shadow”
“I have donated car loads to this store for many years. So many beautiful architectural books & magazines, contemporary household items, children’s clothing/costumes, brand new board games never used, pottery, etc …. I happily and with great purpose place a great deal of time into making sure they are relevant, clean and the items are collated for sale knowing the work that goes into display for the store & this very important charity. Lately, this past year, when delivering items I am greeted with no hello, no thank you …just a great deal of indifference. I almost feel like I am in the way & there is an air of arrogance in the air. (This attitude I experienced many times not just a one off experience) A simple smile, eye contact, a “hello” or “thank you” goes a long way….. an act of kindness … isn’t what the Salvation Army is about???……such a shame, I loved this store… not anymore…won’t be shopping or donating to this store again ☹️”
“The best thing about this op shop is the sales. It's very expensive but the back racks have half price and $2 flash sales. That's where the real bargains lie as I've gotten some brilliant brands for next to nothing! Children's books $1. We got a vintage sewing table which we have in our entryway and everyone contents on. Definitely some treasures to be found -just got to know how to look.”
