“My review is about the customer service. I first went to this op shop four weeks ago and I was very excited to go. I found the experience to be really upsetting and unenjoyable. I read the reviews and noticed several other people experienced similar service to what I did, so I thought I would share my experience as well. One of the women on the counter was so incredibly rude it was breathtaking. I have been opping for 30 years and you get all sorts of people serving you, but this lady spoke to and treated me was completely unacceptable, particularly in a Church run op shop. I didn't know what the prices were for any of the clothes, so I had to ask the price, she barked out the prices and said do you want it? I said I just need to think about it. She then pulls it out of my hands and tosses it on the chair. I found it intimidating, unfriendly and alienating behaviour. I spoke to her and said to her why are you being so rude to me? She said was i being rude? I apologise if I was. I then paid and as I was walking away, I heard her tell the next person about a two for 1 offer, two shirts for the price of one. And I thought why wouldn't she tell me? I found a jumper and a shirt, found a nice woman outside and explained what had happened, she apologised and I said I thought I had been charged too much, she offered to recalculate but by that stage I just wanted to go. She arranged for me to get the jumper and shirt for the same deal, I got some other things and left. I did three credit card transactions totalling over $70. I got home and realised the shirt and jumper were missing, they were in a bag with the other bags I purchased behind the counter and not given to me. I called the contact number and spoke with a lady I won't name, she text me and said the items were not paid for, I reiterated they absolutely had been so she said no problem we will refund you when you are next in. Last week I went with my 91 year old father and he hated it. Said no one spoke to him and they just stared at him. He wanted to go and sit in the car. The 2nd experience was just as poor. Asked if I could pay $4 for couple of kitchen things with the rest of my stuff downstairs and the women put out with my request, they eventually, begrudgingly let me do it. I asked if my father could go down the internal stairs, again, a big deal about it. So ridiculous you have to walk outside to come back in. I went to the counter, showed the text from the lady and they ran off to check with her and came back and said it's OK to refund. I thought, great its settled. Then the contact lady cones down and says in front of all the customers and staff, " you didn't actually pay you know". I was speechless, I thought to myself how rude can you be? Unlike every op shop in Australia, they don't provide itemised receipts, just add it up with pen and paper and charge you one amount. I paid for the items and I did not receive the items do I received a refund. I found the general feel of this op shopshopbe not welcoming at all. Most of the staff didn't smile or offer a kind word in passing. People don't just come to an op shop to spend money, they come for a chat, a laugh and a bit of fun. I c ertainly did not find that here. I will stick with my local salvos, everything is clearly priced, volunteers greet you and have a quick chat and they are reasonable. You can pay for everything in one transaction and they are professionally trained in customer service. I will never return and I put this experience a worst op shop experience i have ever had.”
“Excellent local neighbourhood op shop with a good selection of items to choose from. Unlike other op shops, prices are reasonable, e.g. books selling for only 50 cents for paperbacks and $1 for hardcovers. Staffed by volunteers, it is open from 8.30AM to 1.30PM on Wednesdays and the last Saturday of each month 8.30AM to 12.30PM.”
“I have come here 3 times now, it’s a tiny space absolutely filled with things, however every single time I’ve been here the staff have been rude and all prices are inconsistent. My last visit the lady was so rude I actually left in tears. Probably won’t be back.”
“A local secret! Excellent op shop. All run by volunteers. Exactly what an op shop should be. Get in early. Great to also support the worthwhile groups the church financially gives to from the funds.”
“Great community ran charity opshop in the area. Ran by a lovely group of volunteers. Prices so reasonable. I always find quality items and good brands. Clothing, shoes, handbags, jewellery, books, puzzles, DVDs, toys, so much to look browse. Open every Wednesday morning and last Saturday of month.”
