“If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I honestly cannot believe what I just saw in there… an old Apollo bike (Apollo was made as a budget friendly bike brand btw) for $900! And the other 8 bikes on the rack next to it were all $500+. Genuinely shocked at the greed. For a place that is meant to be for people who cannot afford to buy new products, this is disgraceful. Even a brand new Apollo bike in 2025 is sub $700 and the one I looked at was 30+ years old. Keeping in mind that everything in this place is donated and I’ve been to many places that operate similarly to Goodies where the price range on a bike will be anywhere from $10-$50 depending on the condition. $900 for a bike that someone has donated is disgraceful and this place should be boycott. I’ve only touched on bikes but it only takes walking through this place for 30 seconds to see what a scam it is. If you’re thinking of making a trip here, save yourself the hassle and just go buy new somewhere, it will literally be cheaper.”
“I would definitely give zero if I could. I occasionally stop by here hoping to find a good bargain but have never been successful because of their ridiculous pricing. Today I had the great displeasure of dealing with one of the staff members here, I had asked for confirmation of the price of something as it had two different stickers. Her behaviour was so rude and aggressive straight off the bat. Safe to say i wont be stopping by this place again. Gross behaviour, I suggest some of the staff learn a thing or two about courtesy and respect.”
“Like many others a disappointing experience. Was after a few bricks, wanted to charge me $2 each for dirty, mortar laden bricks from an old BBQ. Told the cashiers new ones from Bunnings are half the price, her response "whatever, they cost $2 here". Amazing that a charity retail store has poor reviews....do they even look at their Google profile? Missing the Green Shed!”
“Insane pricing. $500 and $800 for some tandem bikes. Other bikes have similar pricing - which they got for free! gone are the days of the opportunity shop”
“With big promises of good prices and reducing waste, Vinnies has a lot to answer for. Used Kmart brand appliances and they're charging more than the original price. The team are lovely but that's not what I'm going there for. ACT Government need to do something about this.”
