“I have been to most Vinnies in Sydney. If you are looking for Vinyl AVOID. They sell water damaged / totally messed up records that have deep scratches for $30. Literally all of the records you'd find in an actual record store for $1-$5 are priced $20-30. I feel sorry for the people that only visit this one as they don’t Realise how severely burned they’re getting. Gross!”
“What used to be one of my favourite stores is now a dump. I say dump because it's so packed with overstocked rubbish because no one is buying anymore. Look Vinnies - charity is charity, second hand is second hand whether used or not. We shoppers don't care about your expenses - we care about our bargains ! What we can get for a small price second hand. I looked at the shoe section recently, and all shoes are $30 onwards - you only get the cheap rotten sandals at $15 if you're lucky. This store needs a good clear out it's over stocked- have a big sale, get rid of all that smelly stuff, and start again with a better strategy.”
“Expensive, which is fine if it is good quality and it was laid out nicely but they had taped up a kids’ alphabet puzzle and sold it for $8 only for me to get home and find it only had 15 out of the 26 letters. Most op shops will check them and make a note about how many pieces are missing on the price tag, or not check them but leave them open so customers will check. The store also smells strongly of mould/mildew which is concerning for the staff and volunteers’ health.”
“Vinnies Mortdale used to be an excellent store with some great bargains , now it’s just a shadow of its former self with over inflated prices that are out of reach for most people . What happened to it being an ‘opportunity shop ‘ ? I’ve spoke to the staff and many people feel the same and blame it on management of the store . You’ve lost me and many many other customers 👎👎👎👎👎”
“Very unpleasant shopping experience. A checkout employee, a white-haired elderly woman, has a very indifferent and impolite expression. From the beginning to the end, there is no expression or a word. I tried to chat with her, but she ignored me at all. Her attitude I really don't understand, I spent money here without even saying "thank you", which made me feel that the money I spent was not worth it. Have they long forgotten the meaning of working in this store? 11.30am-12.20pm 8.5.2023.”
