“I would have liked to buy two books, but $8 for one book is completely overpriced, even if it's for a good cause. That's a shame. The end doesn't always justify the means.”
“I’m finding in the hardest time in my life coming to find anything within a reasonable budget is not possible. People ALL and I mean ALL want to dress well. I understand the desire for nice things can be impossible however coming into this store and finding things are more expensive here than the original stores. I bought a pair of shoes and within 30min they started falling apart. I have not bothered bringing them back as i didn’t get my receipt. I have had to take the steps into finding a place where the items are new and much cheaper. I feel this is a crime to sell items that are donated yet still way overpriced.”
“I really don’t like to ever leave bad reviews but the prices at this Lifeline are shocking! Just a small example, I saw some cheap Christmas tree balls (similar to what you can get at Kmart for $2 for 10, for $6.00 for one!). The prices at this place, although it does go to a good cause, are completely out of touch. This is not a knock to the staff who do a lovely job curating everything, which must take considerable time, effort, and skill - but if you are looking for affordable finds, I would give this one a miss.”
“Ok so I know that you are raising money for a very worthy cause and I also understand that you have running costs, however not everyone in your charity is doing it from the goodness of their hearts, some people will be paid a bit, some a lot some, so the burden should not be put solely on your customers who donate and buy from your store. Your prices are truly shocking, op does stand for opportunity right? But the only opportunity I can see is the opportunity to be ripped off. $130 for a secondhand pair of Marmot ski pants? Yes a good brand, but seriously that’s the one that really sticks in my mind, but everything was at the same ridiculously high level. I’m guessing your stock must sit for a long time, I can’t imagine why anyone would buy it, I would rather just make a donation at least it’s tax deductible. Maybe stop being so greedy, lower your prices and actually sell something.”
“This Lifeline is by far the most expensive second hand store I have come by. With not that much to offer considering. The average price of things in there is $30-$60. They even have the nerve to try and charge $10 for a shoebox… an empty shoebox Remember folks, these stores get their inventory for free… there’s no reason for the prices to be so extortionate. On top of that, the ladies working today didn’t even have the decency to wait for me to leave the store to whinge about an honest mistake I made. I picked up a disco ball off the shelf not realising it had a “not for sale” sticker on the underside, when I noticed I put it straight back. Then I overhear two of the sales assistants complain about how people feel they can just help themselves to things that say they’re “not for sale” and how they touch mannequins & how rude customers are. Which was made even more awkward when the ladies noticed me looking into the jewellery cabinet beside them and their conversation suddenly stopped. Go to Vinnies next door. Better items, less expensive and the assistants actually seem like they want to be there 👌🏼”
